@fenarinarsa It's been implemented for years in almost all Fediverse softwares except Mastodon - as well as groups and chats etc. @Mastodon

@fenarinarsa Do you know if there is a way for users who don't want to be QTd to disable this on the client side? Would a user even know if they've been QT'd? @Defiance I can’t find anything related to a current development on GitHub so I guess nothing has been done yet. That said other Fediverse already do quote boost (Pleroma and Misskey) so I guess it’s going to be the same behavior @Defiance also note currently QRT in apps is just a pasted link showing a full preview of the original post so there’s no notification at all because, well, it’s just a link. @fenarinarsa Thanks! I figured as much (link sharing, with a preview). I guess the only real way to disable QTs then is to set your account to private and also turn off boosts, which is of course quite extreme. Will be interesting to see how this evolves 🤷♂️ |
