@EposVox Honestly that's what I did when my friend published a paper a while back. They want to share.

I've heard it's costly to pay a publisher for the rights to allow readers to be able to download the paper for free. The publishers make big money.

@EposVox I went on to read the rest of the replies and it seems to have shot off into a discussion about web3 rather than the oroginal topic.

@lispi314 @EposVox I agree, imagine how much of that money could go into funding new research projects and supporting the industry as a whole.

@LevelUp @EposVox The absurd costs are also actively harming universities and libraries across the world, so the funding of even just currently active projects is threatened.
