Do you know that Senator Orrin Hatch had a music career?
He released 6 albums and 1 single.
I'm listening to him right now. He actually sounds... good. Kind of like the Mormon version of Neil Diamond.
😂

You might be wondering, "How did I wind up finding Orrin Hatch's albums?" I have a hobby where I try to find music that hasn't been heard by anyone. Today, this album landed on my lap. What I want to know: how did Senator Orrin Hatch end up composing and singing on the soundtrack to a novel written by Richard Paul Evans? Why do books have soundtracks? 😆 But wait! There's more! The book by Richard Paul Evans, entitled The Locket, eventually became a Hallmark movie. It starred Vanessa Redgrave. I looked to see if Senator Orrin Hatch was on the soundtrack, and nope! His soundtrack was only for the book, not the movie! 🤣 https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327016/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_8_nm_0_q_The%2520Locket The USA really is an interesting place. In any other country, a prominent politician's music career would at least be noteworthy. But in America, the phrase, "The longest serving Republican senator in history composed the soundtrack to a novel that was later the basis for a Hallmark movie" doesn't even elicit a shrug. Hell, it's not even noteworthy. I might be the first person to hear this album in its entirety! I'm in Canada. We sure do know about former Prime Minister Stephen Harper's music career. It made news. How could any of us ever forget it? @atomicpoet I'd sooner jab forks into my eyes than click on that link to watch Harpo and The Diddler Band @atomicpoet As a former Utahn I still cling to the Osmonds LP "Crazy Horses" as the all time... somethingorother. @atomicpoet well I know about it (not a Christian so not a fan of his music) but he had one track on an actual Platinum selling album. So some folks did listen to his music. See this from an obituary for him: https://www.ktsa.com/late-senator-orrin-hatch-had-a-music-career/ @atomicpoet I've heard the name before, I used to be LDS, I do not however like neal diamond. lol. the voice just grates on my nervs. It has this growelly gravel quality I do not care much for. Oh well. It works. |
