@atomicpoet most of the younger generation (Millennials & Zoomers) grew up with the knowledge that American companies have been selling all their data to China (and everyone else) anyway.

They're not gonna give up a favorite app just because US corporations are fear mongering them into *only letting "us" steal their info*

@atomicpoet I would like to point out two things: 1. It’s not just Republicans who want to ban it. It is bipartisan consensus. By consensus I mean like almost all of congress support the ban. In fact, Hosh Hawley only wants to ban TikTok which a democrat proposed RESTRICT bill that would ban EVERY Chinese apps and devices, from WeChat to TikTok, from DIJ drones to Shanghai cranes.
