 Having looked through the Federated feed, yeah, I’d agree that much of Mastodon’s recent growth is due to bots. But this isn’t a bad thing. 95% of the bots I see are actually helpful. For example, sportsbots.xyz is excellent for updates. It’s pretty obvious to me that this bot-driven growth is due to Elon Musk killing off the free tier for Twitter API access. 7 comments

Also, I have seen an increase in activity lately and the numbers on virtually all stats tracking sites back that up. |
