@dragonarchitect @tchambers Haha same. That's the first thing that jumped out to me.

@tchambers Out of these, definitely most excited about groups.

@stefan Yeah, I put this list roughly iin my order of what I thought the most strategic, and what I was most looking forward to...

@tchambers end to end encrypted messages would be fantastic. Curious how that would work between instances.

@tchambers also how this would work in the browser? You would need to store a private key somewhere. I guess you could store a users private keys on the server? But then the instance admins would have the ability to decrypt. Not my area of expertise so I'll have to follow along as best I can

@tchambers

I've repeatedly posted that until Mastodon has a genuine thread function - where responses appear directly under each post in the thread (not all heaped at the bottom of the thread, which is confusing + counter-productive to follow-up), Mastodon cannot replace Twitter for lengthy conversations on serious topics.

I've received zero feedback on this pt, but I remain convinced this is a big part of the problem in getting writers on scientific + serious topics to migrate.

@tchambers A way to have threads thatdon’t have to be read backwards would help a lot.
