The best thing Pepsi ever did was talk about Coke. And if there were a "Twitter vs. Mastodon" taste challenge, Mastodon would win every time.

I imagine it would be better to talk about Mastodon and the wider fediverse and even moreso to promote it. Been trying to encourage people in my local community to get on my instance with... mixed results because there's still a lot of hesitation

@atomicpoet yeah, “don’t talk about your competitor” only matters in one direction. Pepsi can take shots at coke all day, but coke can’t ever mention pepsi

I'm one of those people to a degree. I'd like to go through my feed without having to see so many posts about Twitter. Twitter lives rent-free over here.

I thought most of us moved over here to get away from the mess. I didn't think we'd be discussing the mess in perpetuity.
