 We're pretty excited about https://pixelfed.art, and building a trusted community of art and artists on Pixelfed. That being said, we have to shout out the OG art community on the fediverse, https://mastodon.art. They have built a rich and diverse community of artists and use their following to promote them. It's amazing. We don't see them as competition, quite the opposite, they are family and we encourage all to find the platform that best fits Embrace artists, wherever they may be ❤️ 18 comments
@Curator Thank you, and thanks for everything you do! We're going to update our About section to recommend your instance for artists that want text-only post support before we launch. Also, I know we said it before but we really ❤️ love everything you do for art and artists on the fediverse. We are so lucky to have such an art focused community on https://mastodon.art I've just tried joining but mistyped email address & now can't seem to rejoin. Help!!!! Funny cos i actually signed up.....then realised i put wrong email but was closed when went to try again (was waiting for confirmation email)..... @pixelfed @pixelfed will stories or videos be an option in the future? Sharing art process via video is helpful.  @confusedmuse @pixelfed would this instance be appropriate for a bot that creates art? I'm considering creating a new outlet for @tweegeemee. @pixelfed I'm looking forward to seeing artists posting full-res, uncompressed art on pixelfed.art! I really hate the mastodon compression, and while other fedi software like pixelfed and pleroma don't crunch images, there weren't any artist-focused instances of either... until now! |
