@atomicpoet The "Mastodon effect" has definitely put the fediverse as a whole on peoples radar. I work in IT but literally had never heard of the fediverse until Elon shat all over Twitter.

Since then I've also discovered other tools like Pixelfed and Write.as and thinking about migrating to those as well.
