It did take me a while to understand how directly open source platforms benefit me... In every regard. As bird site users become increasingly disgusted, they will be taking a closer look at Mastodon and how people are using in with their content. I strongly believe there is substantial built-in appeal, once people have a bit more exposure.
@mastodonmigration One other thing - Mastodon is growing in the best way possible - third party endorsement and word of mouth.
While advertising is a powerful tool, the fact that there is no Mastodon advertising just adds to the power of this sort of organic growth arc. Hang on to your hats everyone!
