Laptops are terrible for ergonomics too. But without a laptop, how else is my company going to make me work anytime, anywhere without OT pay? Haha

lol I have used that as a legit excuse every time I am asked whether I will ever see people in the office IRL. No laptop I own or have access to are better than my desktop, so it's an actual debuff on top of the stamina-drain from travelling.

That’s why my office give employees laptops. Ironically, we don’t allow WFH anymore… also notice how Malaysian employers don’t usually hand out work phones like in some other countries? That’s probably because smartphone penetration is so high already, they have no need to invest on that front to make you work overtime lol.

That's why we should all be reading anarchist and labour texts. I just tell the folks who wanted me to use WhatsApp to provide me with a phone and paid package.

And I have a company laptop too for some jobs, but I am still working from home permanently.

If they don't like it, I will just go do something else.

My industry is pretty much a cartel when it comes to making employee life miserable unfortunately, so good options are hard to come by.
