@mekkaokereke Was listening to local Chicago Sports radio and (about the modern NBA) it appears 3 point efficiency is the most important stat. They were comparing good teams with the Bulls who suck in 3 point shots and efficiency. So this is just a bunch of Misogynist myths. That was the best game highlight clip I have ever watched. If only there was an obvious explanation…  @zackstern @mekkaokereke This is probably reflecting some successful AYSO coaching at a young age but I really appreciate playing soccer as a team sport – don't try to be the best guy on the field, be part of the best-playing team. Putting it that way, someone with an actual athletic career could probably make a fair amount of money selling that book as career advice for developers. We sure could use periodic reminders. @acdha @mekkaokereke I also think that diving seems to be more prevalent in men's soccer. It absolutely takes away from the game. I only watch casually, so whether I watch men or women play tends to be based on availability. Any live games I see are women because I have a cousin who coaches a women's team. Most international professional games I see are men because there are more on TV. Most USNT games I see are women because the WNT is in tournaments longer. @mekkaokereke she is the most complete player I can remember seeing in my adult life - a beast! @mekkaokereke I watched her smoke Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game and should've picked Iowa in my office bracket then and there. Instead I picked South Carolina and she trashed my bracket 🤦 @seenigel I'm a South Carolina fan. They were a better team. But Caitlin Clark is incredible. I wish the refs wouldn't have ticky tack fouled Aliyah Boston in the 1st half, but even if they hadn't, I still think Iowa would have won. Clark is just too good, and too competitive. @mekkaokereke The frustrating thing is the urge to be sexist appears to be overriding their love of money. The last TV coverage contract the NCAA signed for Women's basketball was by every metric way undervalued. They only allowed the Women's tournament to be marketed with "March madness" as of 2022. They seemed to prefer to be sexist than to make money!  @mekkaokereke If they start messing with the purity of basketball the way they have with baseball, I'mma start watching curling. @mekkaokereke she shoots the 3 on the move as well as anyone I’ve seen outside of Steph Curry.
