Gregory's ServerThis act, while saying it's to ban TikTok, would give the US gov the power to: Remove and ban any online service they deem "a security risk" without public explanation, force Americans to hand over *any* private data for gathering that the government requests, prevent you from speaking out about this should it happen to you, and prevent you from using a VPN to protect yourself. Penalties include a fine up to $1m and 20 years in prison.

@ryanhoulihan TikTok needs to be banned, it's a tool of a totalitarian one party regime. And a lot of people seem to be fine with that. If that's the case, they have no business lecturing anyone on democracy or privacy. Those opposing this bill should suggest amendments if they don't like parts of it, instead of trying to torpedo it and deflect from the issue of CCP disinformation, propaganda and cognitive warfare.
