@trwnh@dansup Based on this it seems he's opened the timeline in-app but then somehow navigates away onto the public page instead of just clicking the in-app follow button

FWIW looking back at the Mastodon documentation that I wrote, it seems even I gave it a scant two paragraphs, and perhaps that concept should be explained in more depth for new users... https://docs.joinmastodon.org/user/network/#follow
