gamers just want one thing and it's for a computer to tell you "wheels: enough" when you've put enough wheels onto something. I hope Nintendo understands this I'm looking forward to reading people's posts about how they went on a (in-game) cocaine bender in BOTW2 and built a giant mobile death station covered in spikes and fire and proceeded to drive it through ganondorf the king of evil at maximum velocity killing him instantly also if you don't know what I'm going on about look up Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, one of the greatest video games ever created Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead is a wonderful open world simulation game about life in Massachusetts, but with a twist: what if Massachusetts was literally infinite and also procedurally generated, and some other stuff. and remember, there's no "I" in "structural collapse", but the letters of the word "car" are well represented @aeva that was my contribution until I figured out two things: 1) the codebase is so spaghetti that it can only be salvaged by a miracle @aeva I am reminded of the best Banjo-Kazooie game: Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts And that has me very excited God, I wish BK:NAB was available on PC. I don't even know if my old Xbox 360 still works, and I'd need to buy a US power brick for it to find out. @aeva this is amazing, and i can't wait to see how any% speedrunners use it also, is it just me, or did they maybe take some inspiration from glitch runs? Like, i seem to recall people using BotW glitches where boulders & pottery latch onto the shield while it's equipped...? (but i can't seem to find it atm) |
@aeva fuse and ultrahand are especially impressive systems, what an especially great way to mitigate the shortcomings of the breakable weapons and making all the random monster parts and plants infinitely more usable by allowing you to have the βAlchemy Engineβ create these effect. The game also runs like a dream in the demo. Wow!
