I was thinking today about all of the beautiful and innovative apps and games I’ve seen this year. Then I got to wondering which ones I've missed.

What have you seen that really knocked your socks off?

@stern none.
They are all boring anymore. There is nothing out there that I consider a must have

@Sluggo271 @stern I'd beg to differ. Like paintings and music, apps are a form of expression. Sure, they can be tools that blend into the background in the same way commercial jingles on the radio don't have a ton of character. But the medium is still ripe with fun, quality work. If nothing else, be the change you want to see :)

@stern I know it's an editors choice but Knotwords is so, so fun. Really nice haptics, cute animations, fun game loop. It's my go-to game when I'm traveling and don't have cell signal.

@samhenrigold Thanks Sam. I haven't played it yet but it's from Zach so I'm assuming it's great. I spent so many, many hours playing Threes.

@stern Oh and Broadcasts (apps.apple.com/us/app/broadcas). I feel like streaming services have limited what I listen to down to algorithmic suggestions, so I've started listening to college radio while I work. This is the best way I've been able to collect and listen to my favorite stations; way cleaner than a bookmarks folder in my browser.

@samhenrigold @stern Broadcasts is also great for streaming live podcasts.

@samhenrigold Sweet. It's sad that regular commercial radio is so, so, so much worse than most of the college radio stations I've listened to over the years like KZSC in Santa Cruz, KUSF in SF, and of course KCRW in LA. I'll check it out!
