I'm sorry I have just put on Steven Wilson's THE FUTURE BITES once more to try to get into it and...

these first few tracks are rough. I do not understand why you would make music like this.

Why does this song try to be funky, and then slather the funk in effects so all the groove is lost?

This is the musical equivalent of getting some nice crunchy cornflakes and letting them get soggy.

Wilson's always been quite full of himself. The type of guy to make a music video using deepfakes to turn himself into Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Mark Zuckerberg (among others),

without actually saying anything about them.

Just that "look what I referenced I am so smrt" style.

And see barely anyone calling him on it?

I don't want to slag off the guy, he can make great music. Porcupine Tree has some killer songs, and his solo output has some fantastic parts! ("Hand. Cannot. Erase" is probably my favorite album of his and it's quite recent, this isn't a case where he got bad, he was always this way)

But even PT had that pretentious streak - a lot of Fear Of A Blank Planet lyrically was just "kids nowadays aren't like kids in my day, which is bad".

(also he seems to hate prescription meds)
