@Dani 🌻 @Chris Trottier @Fediverse News I bet you that everyone at #GAFAM had their legal departments check whether it's possible to buy out the whole #Fediverse, all instances included. When that failed, at least all of #Mastodon, all instances included. When that failed, too, at least Mastodon gGmbH, only to learn that all that'd buy them would be two out of countless instances, but not the IP rights on the whole project.

I also bet you that #Google is working on its own corporate, commercial, proprietary, closed-source, centralised Fediverse silo project right now, and that they'll pump a few billion dollars into advertising it as "Mastodon, but easier to use and more like Twitter." And I bet you that millions will readily jump ships.
