If you don't like what someone is writing about, you have the following options:

1. Hide their boosts
2. Mute them
3. Unfollow them
4. Block them
5. Block the domain that hosts them

But going into their threads to police what they write about is pure asshole behaviour.

@atomicpoet besides it being asshole behavior, it's totally pointless.

@atomicpoet @KayJanes But…but…but that’s what Ron DeSantis would do!

@atomicpoet there is another option on mastodon which is that you can pooh pooh them and that's quite a big deal when it's coming out of a mastodon

@atomicpoet 6. Go masto-karen and demand that admin block entire domain for 1 person's potentially boorish behavior.

(not recommended but I have seen this, and some instance admins don't rule it out immediately)

@atomicpoet You don't need to tell them why you're doing it, just do the thing. Done.

@atomicpoet I did 3) on you about a month ago, but it turns out that I usually enjoy those of your posts which happen to come my way. So, I evidently found the right setting on the dial.

Doesn't it depend on what they're writing about and what they're saying? Some messages that fall short of reportable should still be called out as better not posted
