@Gargron have yall published a blog post about this? Aware of the helm chart that exists but I think best practices around setup for various infrastructure components and how to manage scalability, security, configuration, and migration would make for a stellar blog post (particularly from official mastodon channels) Very Nice. There are many features of #Kubernetes that is helpful in allowing #Mastodon to scale @Gargron There's probably good news in there that I'm ill-equipped to understand. ๐ @Gargron a blog post about the migration would be awesome, please donโt skip the challenges and technical details youโve overcame, those are the gist of the whole story :100a: @Gargron Iโd love a technical write up on how you did it, specially if it includes auto-scaling! Congrats!! ๐ @Gargron hey! Is it possible to change my @ without moving on to another server? Iโd like to capitalize my username (to WillianMax). Thanks! For those of you who donโt know what that means: #Kubernetes (also referred to as K8s) is a technology that helps administrators like @Gargron with running software on servers. The special thing is: It makes it easier to install and update software on many servers at once and โorchestrateโ the many parts of an application like #Mastodon like webserver and database. 1/2 Also it provides ways to โscaleโ an application, so that it automagically runs on more hardware when the usage rises. Kubernetes is quite complex stuff and difficult to master. So kudos to Eugen for having made this big step! I use K8s myself at scale so I know what that means ๐ 2/2 |
@Gargron Cool! Thanks for all that had work!
