So yes, Varvara can play sounds, but it's definitely not sophisticated, it's designed to play little interface warning sounds than music and sound effects..
But I think this is kind of fun. It's going to be pretty quirky.

@unrznbl once I have a tiny bit more time, I'd like to make a proper synth that has some depth to it, right now it can play single-cycle little sine waves and things, but nothing that has any depth. The problem is mostly that I know pretty much nothing about sound programming.. @neauoire right on. I was playing with piano a bit last night with a kid, the piano is way too small to touch but still fun to mess with the sound "data source", really cool interface there! @neauoire wowow. It's chiptune season again. the Aliceffekt is resurfacing... Imagine like 15 years ago getting into chiptune from a purely art vector, only to wrap all the way back around designing the constraints from scratch. Intersting perspective :) So many indie devs dream of making their little retro game sound this kind of good. @floatvoid yeah, sometimes it feels like I took a sort of detour to build all this, only so I can go back to doing the things I like the way I intended back then but couldn't do :) @neauoire I’ve been watching you work on uxn and related projects for a bit. I fiddled with it a bit today and think it’s charming. I want to take a closer look at some point. @maddiefuzz I'm glad you found it charming, if you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to ask :uxn: |
@neauoire It really adds to the game.
