I've used a lot of DAWs over the years, and they're not usually all that straight forward, there is a learning curve. But the difference is the ones where I could mostly figure it out, or look it up and say "Oh, I see" and the ones where I couldn't understand it at all and after I looked it up I'd say "You've got to be fucking kidding me".
@billyjoebowers exactly, yes! Sometimes even with a manual stuff is so odd it is still hard to use, and sometimes much can be intuited. I prefer the later, and have yet to meet someone who didn’t like having things intelligible by and large.
