I want the Windows 3.1 Mini. A little HDMI console with a wireless ball mouse, loaded with all the Microsoft Entertainment Packs, Dare to Dream, and Castle of the Winds.

@foone you probably could build one *into* a mouse that connects directly via HDMI to a screen?

@foone 5V@300mA should be enough to run an ARM0 emulating a 286, right?!

@foone with all the retro consoles with preloaded games you'd think someone would have done this already

@foone

I'm pretty sure that qemu on a RPi or equivalent will be fast enough to do that for you.

@foone I keep thinking that Apple should make (or commission) a 75%-scale replica of the original Macintosh, with a crisp 512x384 monochrome screen, replica keyboard/mouse and original apps (MacPaint/Draw/Write, Hypercard, various games) preloaded into onboard storage. They could make it a limited edition and sell it at a hefty markup and people would still buy it as an object to have.

@foone@digipres.club And I want a Ruben sandwich made on a pumpernickel bagel… but, ya’ know, today - it’s a cinnamon poptarts kinda morning.
The Flying Bun

@foone and like all the old DOS CDrom adventure games and such, I probably should do something like that. But probably just with emulation powering it all.

@foone I would personally go for one of these.

A collection of early computer trackballs. Made from beige plastic and very square with large, chunky buttons.
Gregg "Cabe" Bond

@foone inflict the SkiFree monster on a whole new generation!

Anil Dash

@foone in a hideous Packard Bell case.

@anildash @foone This sounds like the final assertion about the murder in a game of Clue.

1 tripod in 3 trenchcoats

@foone hmm. Does freedos run on raspberries?

I know, not the same.

Dominus

@foone and Operation: Inner Space!
But any Rpi running whatever with DOSBox on it will be enough.

Tetraca
@foone and the first Microsoft Arcade for Centipede, Tempest, and Battlezone.
