 @gamingonlinux did we not literally double actual users after all the tweeters flocked back to the titantic? There’s many news sites doing this, obviously it’s all for SEO clicks because of people searching for Mastodon. They all follow each other to get to the top of Google. MUO is just another in a long list of news sites that publish literally anything they can for a click, it’s crap and only mentioned specifically as it popped up in my feed just now. @gamingonlinux Make Use Of is the most useless website ever. I've seen so many articles on there where they just change the publish date to make it look "new". I know they're not the only ones, but it seems to be something they do a lot. @gamingonlinux they don't want people to leave Twitter because that's where they post their shit. they haven't bothered to properly look into Mastodon, don't want to post their stuff here and don't want to lose their audience. it's lazy. go where your audience is if you want to have an audience @gamingonlinux nah lets be honest with ourselves- they want it to fail because twitter is more readily monetized with ads. Those companies depend on that revenue and dont want to alter their business model. If theyre going to replace twitter, they want a duplicate that has big advertiser backing. @gamingonlinux obviously ppl will come here, see, interact and decide that they don't like it  @gamingonlinux at this point mastodon should have had a negative amount of users already -.- @gamingonlinux I left Twitter completely after the Twitter shutdown there API. I can't use the app I was using to read Twitter so I added people that I could that made an account here everyone that did not is now lost to the wind. I added some that have not hardly posted here even though they were more active on Twitter. One though she said she's more active more than ever because she loves mastodon far better. |
