We aren't allowing that because we have a real Mac app. @jackmcconnell iOS apps on the Mac are generally terrible. Would make sense if we weren't making a Mac app, but we are. @ivory that would be true but my personal experience has been excellent. E.g. for now, I’m using the official Mastodon iOS app on my Mac and it’s been really good. Keyboard shortcuts and everything. But it’s not a Ivory. @jackmcconnell We used Ivory for iOS on our Macs internally when our Mac app was still too early. It wasn’t good for us. 🙂 @ivory I'm the only one leaving that URL open in a window and tapping refresh several times a day just in case, right? 😏 @ivory I’m very torn about boosting this because I don’t want the testing spots filled before I can get in. So only tell me when it reopens. Then I’ll share the news after I’ve confirmed I’m in @ivory I keep typing Ivory in Spotlight to realise it “doesn’t yet exist” and it’s iOS only atm. Hope to see this change soon. @ivory can premier subscribers of the iOS app get easy access to the max beta without having to fight others to get into the queue?  @ivory I’m happy to be the odd early adopter who can wait for a gold master release. Keep up the good works! @ivory Seems odd that all the "tech writers" seem to get access to the testflights, but as soon as everyone else knows about it, it is full. Really odd. @ericdano Most of the people who got it early have been long time beta testers for a lot of our apps. And many of them happen to be tech writers because they tend to need early access to spend time with new software so they can write about them when released. Nothing new here. Been that way for 15 years with us. But as we said, there's currently a testflight issue. There's no reason why we don't want as many people on the Mac app as possible at this point. It's about as good as the iOS app. @ivory so I guess I got really lucky with it, I managed to get a slot early this morning (EU time). Thanks guys. I hope the issue gets solved quickly so more can join the party! Loving both apps so far, excellent as always! @ivory There’s an app update available for TestFlight in the App Store today. Not sure if that will help with the issue you’re having? @ivory I’d love to see ability to add photo descriptions in the iOS version. It’s the only thing that keeps me from using Ivory all the time. @MizzBassie That's always been a feature. You have to tap on the images after you add them in the compose view. But we will be improving it all in the future. @ivory Thank you. I’ll have to try it. It’s not obvious. Improvements are always welcome. @leopic unfortunately yes. Just too many catalyst issues on earlier versions. @ivory that was the first great place to offer something for those, who decided to pay extra for Ivory.  @ivory Just feedback, I may be alone but unless people speakout, you'll never know: @jfmezei That's impossible with the code we are using for Ivory for Mac. @robmathers Not without a ton of work. We'd have to build an update system and everything. We are already going to be close to releasing on the app store so just want to let 10k users use it until we ship. @rylon Won't ever happen. It's a terrible experience and we are spending tons of time on a real Mac app. Would make absolutely no sense. Okay lets try this one more time. We are limiting the list to 2500 spots for tonight just to make sure things are working okay. If there are no major TestFlight issues, we will open up the rest of the spots tomorrow morning, Texas time. Important: If you are already in the current Mac TestFlight, you'll have to join this one again, unfortunately. The one you already joined won't get updates and will stop working after some time.
