Many years ago I considered putting Oquonie on the steam store, I gave up because I couldn't navigate the insanity that is the steamworks website.

Today, I thought I should try it again, but I can't figure it out. It's like every other page is a 404, or a blank page that just looks like [Object object]. Utterly unusable. :bloat:

@neauoire Looks like they're gonna have to rename it to steamdoesn'twork.

@neauoire If you do you need to pay 100 bucks upfront if I remember correctly.

@neauoire I've tried a couple of times over the years to create an Apple Developer account. Each time, I create the account, then try to log in. And they say I have the wrong password.

I tried once to get Discord to send me notifications to a channel. It says the channel has too many people, I need to create my own server then forward messages to it, then subscribe to my own server. It never worked.

There's some subtlety of the market economy and natural selection that I just don't get.

@akkartik it's kind of surprising how these seemingly big companies fail to allocate resources to support important features. Part of me is convinced that Apple is just 3-4 devs, and a massive PR department.

`Da Elf

@neauoire @akkartik And Microsoft is two devs and a Marketing/PR City.

@neauoire tbh, I'm pretty sure steam has one of the better store backends for stores where AAA companies sell AAA stuff. They also have quite a good documentation compared to others. It's still too complicated though.

@neauoire I uninstalled Steam a month ago, I only use itch.io now. Where you put your time/money affects the future more than you think.

Opened a support ticket with Steam:

Hundred Rabbits: "Our account address is, for some unknown reason, set to New Zealand, and we are trying to change it to Canada, but your site gives us a 404 when pressing the Change Location button on the Steamworks page."

Steam Support: "Your address has now been changed New Zealand, you should be all set now. You're welcome."

Hundred Rabbits: "Wait, what-"

After a week of back and forths to convince the team at Steam that, yes indeed a page is missing on their website and a link was broken as a result, they've updated the site and fixed the broken link 🥳

@neauoire I wonder are you really the only person who noticed and complained about it? How is it even possible.

Devil Lu Linvega

@vacuumbeef I guess people don't change their account's country very often.
