@jameschip makes sense. I've always found the idea of pubs quite foreign. But as I age, it seems like the kind of communal space I would appreciate. A place where it's harder to link to your newest project than it is to make small talk. Odd that that's become a novelty.

@inscript I used to be a regular at a local pub. I had a seat at the bar and didn't have to order because all the staff knew my drink. There was a small group of us locals and we used to stay late talking films and books or making music.

Thats gone now though. Management and staff changed, a couple of people died, some moved away, some had kids.

I miss it, but I don't mourn it's loss either.
