Is activitypub and the fediverse we know today slowly dying?
It seems more people are losing interest, instance are shutting down and more accounts are abandoned.
Thoughts?

I would say that we are growing slower than a few years ago. We are still seeing new #ActivityPub project being announced and sustained or growing user bases across different projects.
To give an example, from May 2020-2021, Pixelfed total posts & users doubled (including thousands of users leaving due to instance closures).
We are just getting started 🚀
