The only reason we're able to hire more folks is because of your support. Mastodon is a non-profit supported entirely by crowdfunding. If you like what we're doing or the servers we provide, consider supporting us on Patreon:

@Gargron

It doesn't allow for donations over $40/month.

The high levels are "sold out", and the custom button at the bottom doesn't allow you to set anything.

@Gargron is it possible to make a tax deductible (in the US) donation?

@Gargron @siracusa say hello to your newest silver sponsor. Keep up the great work!

@Gargron mastodon is in great hands!! i'm a communication specialist and would love to be considered when a communication team is being set up

@Gargron I will. And this reminds me of the Log4j guys and how big companies doing huge business only remembered them when there was a problem. Now is the opportunity for those who do business with Mastodon, especially charging subscriptions like Ivory, to give more meaning to what users pay by contributing to those who really feed them.

Helix Cavendish

@Gargron have you considered an Β£8 a month option that gives us a check mark next to our names?

@Gargron My journey aboard Ivory is so pleasant that I’ve decided to support you on Patreon. Thanks

@Gargron in for a year, good work. This is better than I had anticipated.

@Gargron Any way to make a direct donation and avoid Patreon?

radiocron

@Gargron Where is the "democratic" process that decided there would be no search?
This is not "decentral", by any means.
100% of #Mastodon software has search intentionally broken, but it seems admins can quickly find #BDS or "Nazi Punk Volodomyr" so they can play Gatekeeper.
Matt Blaze noted, hmm one thing missing id breaking news. Well Matt, nothing will break here.
You don't have to worry about Truth here. @mattblaze

@Gargron You are paying moderators who consider BDS a violent ideology, it is certain the #Mastodon is on the way down the tubes, with more money than brains. This is unforgivable.
Who provided the money? Where is the transparency?
The fact that search has been broken intentionally for 5 years on your unilateral decision speaks volumes, as does the failure to understand what BDS means.

Morons delete posts that suggest
"Boycott, Divest and Sanction"
and call BDS a violent ideology.

@Gargron You might want to reveal large donors who made possible 700 positions at a company that forbids discussion of BDS or anti-war activity.

@Gargron some of us may not have enough resources to support both the main project and the instance we use. In this case, what should be the priority of our contribution?

Bojan Bjelić

@Gargron can I ask how many people you have full time?

bumblefudge

@Gargron my advice: take someone with lots of commercial experience willing to take the paycut over someone with lots of FOSS bona fides that hasn't designed things that scaled internationally. you want a traitor who knows the ways of FAANG, IMHO 😈
