@Mastodon I've actually been curious: it was publicized that the Patreon site is at about $31k, if I remember correctly. Are there other sources of revenue? Curious how mastodon can afford two full time positions that total much more than that.

@dead10ck 31k is per month, 60k is per year. Probably still very limited but nice if they can squeeze out some more jobs.

@dead10ck @Mastodon Patreon is important, but there are other revenue streams beyond that. Grants, casinos, bitcoin traders, IT companies, etc.

@dead10ck As well as the $33k/pm from Patreon, there is the money from opencollective.com/mastodon and sponsors (there are 35 Premium sponsors paying $500/pm sponsor.joinmastodon.org/ and several gold and rosegold sponsors) - along with various grants from NGL+others.

Of course, all that pays for mastodon.social , mastodon.online , legal stuff, Gargron 's tjme and other workers/contractors (see joinmastodon.org/about and patreon.com/posts/61911077 for last years annual report) etc
