@dead10ck @Mastodon Patreon is important, but there are other revenue streams beyond that. Grants, casinos, bitcoin traders, IT companies, etc.

@dead10ck As well as the $33k/pm from Patreon, there is the money from https://opencollective.com/mastodon and sponsors (there are 35 Premium sponsors paying $500/pm https://sponsor.joinmastodon.org/ and several gold and rosegold sponsors) - along with various grants from NGL+others.

Of course, all that pays for mastodon.social , mastodon.online , legal stuff, Gargron 's tjme and other workers/contractors (see https://joinmastodon.org/about and https://www.patreon.com/posts/61911077 for last years annual report) etc
