I mostly replied because "the ones demanding it are all from twitter" is a very generalizing statement that implies that *all* people who want this feature are people that recently migrated over from twitter, and who want mastodon to work just the same. and I disagree with that.

I do see why some people prefer not to have quote toots, so let' agree to disagree 🙂 I think they'd be net-positive for the ecosystem.
