make the quote text appended in the original thread too, like pingbacks in the blog, let the OP feel welcome to chime-in the outside group convo(s), it can make the whole attitude around #QT more inclusionary than exclusionary like in #twitter (which make it toxic) we should improve #QT in #mastodon, not just copying blindly from twitter 2 comments
I for one do not want to see people arguing on the internet using #QT instead of replying in the thread (like normal human), or my home feed (which is limited to 400 items update!!) to be flooded by the same quetoot-replies of a viral content so please make filter that can hide quoted replies by post_id_number |

@Gargron the goal here is to make #QT more "talk to the person" and less "talk about the person"
the OP has to be made aware about conversation around their content, and not losing control over /their own/ post (because of few bad actors misled their audience)
Every feature should make the User more empowered, and give them more (not less) control over ther own content
let's not repeate #twitter experience!
