I feel bad for all the pets today 😔

@Gargron The first person to successfully market "dog earplugs" will make a killing. There's probably someone at it already, I'm just lazy and won't search Google. 😃 @Gargron same. I created a blanket fort for my panther to mute out the noise. Wish I could make a giant one for the homeless kitties 😞 @Gargron not ours! She’s deaf as a door nail. For years now. (She is 16) No fireworks, vacuum cleaners or neighbors stomping upstairs bother her. For years! She’ll be fine! Happy New Year! @Gargron my mates dog is resting in front of the fireplace at the moment. I hope it stays that way 😔 Domestic pets curled up in a comforter works well. "Comforting" + blocks out some of the noise @Gargron, my dog does not mind fireworks, oddly enough, but I will pass on your sympathy. @Gargron We've been supporting ours as best as wel can. They've been coming to us all day for comfort. Might is going to be a shitshow @Gargron Our first New Year‘s Eve with our first dog aged six months turns out to be complete stress for her four hours before 00:00 already. Never imagined that it could be that hard to see an animal suffering just because of early fireworks and firecrackers… 😕 @Gargron I only wish that here in #PuertoRico, we get nice and long rain 🌧️ showers starting at 11PM until 5AM at the earliest. @Gargron It's raining hard here in San Francisco today/tonight. Pets may get a peaceful night's sleep for once. @Gargron As stated here https://mastodon.social/@sarahjelm/109607534946130578 @Gargron @Gargron But this is not the only proof that considerable parts of our societies don't even know the feeling of empathy. There is nothing like this inside their brains. @Gargron it's another day that I feel bad for millions innocent civilians Ukrainian people ,without water , heat, and food , sir. Only to resist in order to gain their freedom and peace from a genocidal invader that kills ten of thousands of civilians. @Gargron Yep. Our dog is terrified. We have white noise blasting out of 5 speakers to conceal as many bangs as possible. @Gargron My late doggo's 3 least favorite holidays - New Years Eve, 4th of July, and Halloween (all the door knocking freaked him out) :( @Gargron We take care of the horses in our stable for all those stupid idiots who need fireworks for their fun and forget about their horses and all other animals.... @Gargron I live in a very rural area, literally back of beyond, and even here it's loud already. No idea why people still enjoy doing this, there are so many reasons why it's bad, we really should know better. The stray cats I'm feeding haven't been around today which means fear > hunger 😕 Anyway, "Guten Rutsch" everybody. Stay safe! 🥂 @Gargron @Gargron @Gargron , Not Just Today In #Uk , #BonefireNight In 5th Of November, Chinese New Years, & Random Times :/ :( @Benji_Jake_ ,Really Dislike Some If Briefly Left Alone, Or Altogether Having Cat 🐱🐈 Naps For I #Scott1984FP ,Need Crash Days From Time To Time Too , & They Suddenly Bark , Jump Around, Grrrrr, Etc, :/ :( @Gargron silly that we haven't replaced fireworks with silent lasers by now. @Gargron thankfully it’s raining hard here which should put a bit of a damper on things, but a good reminder to build blanket forts and medicate pets if it’s an option. @Gargron hoping my neighbors don’t shoot off guns at midnight. Last year it scared the dog so bad she peed on the bed. @Gargron it’s even worse than I expected…sounds like someone is setting them off on the roof of our house 😕 I used to have to drug my dog when there were a lot of fireworks because he was unconsolable. Poor guy blinked one eye at a time. @Gargron ugh. Fireworks are bad for so many reasons. Really time we stopped using them. @Gargron both of my cats have gone into hiding somewhere and it’s 4 1/2 hours from midnight. I don’t know about our outdoor only kitty. I have been trying to coax him into the house for a few months but he won’t even consider it. I have a little house outside for him and food and water. But nights like this I’m not sure what he’s doing. Our cats are more interested than anything else. They watch through windows, but we are lucky that the nearest fireworks aren't very close to us. (I still remember terrified dogs hiding under the table.) @Gargron My cat was just interested in the show and then curled up and took a nap. He's not immune to the vacuum cleaner tho. @Gargron my cats always hid under our beds for comfort. I miss them even after 13 years now. @Gargron I haven't used fireworks in any kinda celebration since 2019. It's good for both pets & the planet 🌎 |
@Gargron Same. It's a hard day for pets and wildlife (and the compassionate humans who care for them).
