@Gargron going to guess this is some kind of user interface work around by the people in question, like they want to essentially have a day to day view of their chunk of the fedi and up to date discussion threads but only from people in on the date scheme for their language - so some sort of cross fediverse linguistic selection of current posts maybe?

I guess if you make a post in tomorrows tag you can ask people :)
