Female ravens do a rattle knock too. It’s lovely and deep like a bongo drum. One of my ravens will mew like a kitten to get my attention. Not a normal sound, but something she picked up. |
@accretor it’s very hard. There’s some difference in which calls they make. In particular, if I hear a bird, making a rattle-knock call, that is a good indication it is female.
