@ct_bergstrom I once received a dried stalk of grass that had gone to seed as a gift. The crow insisted that I take it.

@Lee_in_Iowa @ct_bergstrom that’s what I figured since I leave mealworms for them.

@pussreboots @Lee_in_Iowa @ct_bergstrom I have mealworms, how do you give them? In a dish? I have a crow call and I try to call on it while I throw out popcorn to get their attention, but so far they rightfully think I'm a freak. Were they already coming to you when you started putting out mealworms? Maybe if I get a blue dish, I hear they like blue...

@tippitiwichet @Lee_in_Iowa @ct_bergstrom If you have a dish, make sure you clean it between servings. I have a large cinder block wall which I lay them out on. Then I can just hose down the area to keep it clean.

@pussreboots @tippitiwichet @ct_bergstrom I just use what was once patio dining out table and strew seed and mealworms mixed together.

@pussreboots @tippitiwichet @ct_bergstrom But I am feeding everyone. The crows here are getting corn at a neighbor’s house and aren’t much interested in my food table.

I too have received gifts, usually long dried twigs, left on my back doorstep from my crow family. I always pick them up and bring them indoors.

"My" crows definitely leave gifts. A cherry, a bit of bone, a key ring, always left in the center of the front stairs.

@jp @pussreboots @ct_bergstrom “our” magpies at our old place used to leave us bread tags as presents and once returned a mini toy hammer my son lost. They brought the hammer back in pristine condition and it was lined up perfectly beside their water dish. I couldn’t believe it!
