@dookie @Gargron Reddit admins themselves, not r/mastodon. Reddit admins can sometimes be questionable.

@zakiuem @Gargron The admins very seldom intervene with anything like this... Not sure why they're relevant to bring up??

@dookie @zakiuem @Gargron I think he may be trying to say that Reddit isn’t exactly user friendly anymore, it’s become rather user hostile with overbearing mods and administrators.
Part of the reason why I am running my own mastodon server is entirely due to a Reddit admin *removing* one of my posts for questionable reasons. I knew the end of Reddit was coming soon enough.
Federated services protect against that, as you have all of the control.

@david @zakiuem @Gargron Odd. Never seen that, not sure that it's relevant to this single AmA. It's unfortunate, but I don't know that it's widespread.

@dookie @zakiuem @Gargron it’s an important reminder that all centralized services should effectively be considered compromised and untrustworthy.
I agree that it is unlikely to affect this AMA in particular.
I did not believe that it was a widespread issue on Reddit either, my Reddit account is 13 years old and I was blown away to have it happen to me. Overzealous mods? Sure. An admin deleting a post and refusing to explain it?
That’s nuts to me.

@david @zakiuem @Gargron Centralization of a platform is a whole different issue. I wholly agree, however it's not 100% always important and relevant.
