@IPEdmonton @pmcg @sandofsky everyone’s, me included, is going to use the most official app they figure stuff out including that the other apps aren’t scams. @ablurbablurb @pmcg @sandofsky @IPEdmonton yes, I did but downloaded Tusky for my android and, Metatext for my iPad after reading the recommendations on here and now believe they are better. @Sally_Bridge @ablurbablurb @pmcg @sandofsky Metatext is fine but no longer being updated. I’m switching between Mastoot and Mammoth these days. Both are works in progress but good. And apparently there’s another iOS app in the works by old Twitter developers called Ivory that’s going to be beautiful and slick but it’s still in alpha. @Sally_Bridge @IPEdmonton @ablurbablurb @sandofsky @pmcg hello! Sorry to jump in here - was wondering if either mastoot or mammoth display pinned hashtags as a timeline? Struggling to get a better feed as I’m not following many people yet. Thank you @IPEdmonton @pmcg @sandofsky One of the first thing I tell new people is to get another app, and give them suggestions based on their OS. People are missing out on so much if they only use the base app! @stopthatgirl7 @IPEdmonton @pmcg @sandofsky can you explain more?? I am currently using the main/official app and feel like maybe I'm missing out? I'm on Android... @alexanderama @stopthatgirl7 @IPEdmonton @pmcg @sandofsky I really liked the #Tusky UI, it just seemed more readable. The big feature advantages are: supporting bookmarks, and multiple account logins. I then found #YuitoApp for #Android (it's a fork of Tusky) and that's even cleaner and easier to use for me. Maybe because it's fairly Twitter-like, but mostly it's just easy to navigate and makes Mastodon feel more frictionless @UberAirQuality @stopthatgirl7 @IPEdmonton @pmcg @sandofsky thanks alot. Ima look into both @alexanderama @UberAirQuality @stopthatgirl7 @IPEdmonton @sandofsky for iOS and Macintosh, the developers of #TweetBot are working hard on @ivory … but likely not available for another month, at best pace. |
@pmcg @sandofsky it’s a terrible app! I wish all the new users understood that they have much better options.
