However, I am not saying this happened in this case but:

I think it is okay for an administrator of a server to ban someone because they personally do not like them, as long as that is not prohibited by the published rules of their server. Abramson picked a server run by a person volunteering their time, and should not expect a "customer service" style relationship with them.

@almodozo And to be extra clear, I have written extensively on why I believe servers should not have more than about 100 people on them, and in part it is to prevent misunderstandings like this on both sides of the situation.

@darius Oof. Yeah, I'd disagree really. Even on the small, old-school web forum where I coordinated the volunteer moderators for a couple of years, we tried to be conscientious about banning people and removing posts on the basis of rules — not just because, eh, we didn't like 'em.
