I had to take a "basic computing" class in high school that was typing basics, how to use Word/Excel/Powerpoint/Access (for some reason?), and other "very basic" stuff like, "what is ROM/RAM?", how to set up a WiFi connection, how to find reliable information on the internet...
I graduated in 2006 and it felt dated when I took it in 2004.
