I have this image in my head: In the nanomaterial future, it's cheap as ink to make product packaging that has animated eink with touch-interactive surfaces. When you're done with that carton of coke cans you move a square on the label, like unlocking an old iPhone, and the material pizoelectrically retracts from a box to a tiny paper-textured square for disposal. With litter now a thing made extinct, sketchy neighborhoods are marked by piles of multicolored confetti squares blowing in the wind
