Gregory's Server@tchambers any idea on whether this will have an effect on existing server load/queues/etc? That's a lot of new content and users to potentially federate with.

@Simonscarfe @tchambers I'm certainly no expert, but my understanding is that the load would come from users on this server subscribing to tumblr feeds.Tumblr's massive backlog of content wouldn't really do anything to any servers but their own. @grahamsz @tchambers I expect that’s correct - content doesn’t get “pushed on” to a server, unless a user requests it. I guess the only risk is very popular content, which we’re starting to see anyway with more notable folk joining the fediverse. |
@Simonscarfe interesting question…it might actually help - as tumblr users wouldn’t have to jump to other servers.
