@darius I guess I'll check back later to see if they can handle more. I understand it's a load but to be social means to keep people together, not on separate servers where sharing becomes difficult.

@darius I think my confusion stems from not understanding how the servers "know" who I want to interact with and when. I can join one, but won't know if a friend joins another unless I'm constantly looking for them -? @GoldieYock yeah that is correct, your friend would need to tell you that you signed up, and there's no way to just search every account ever. it's very much like email -- in order to email someone you need them to tell you their address. same deal here. It is certainly less convenient than searching every known account for a person you know (which isn't really how this works, it would be like having a directory of all email addresses ever) @GoldieYock it's a slower kind of growth here, more intentional. I like it but it's not for everyone |
@GoldieYock being on other servers doesn't prevent you from following those elsewhere. That's one of the big advantages of software like this. It's pretty much the same with the same access to the same people no matter what server you're on
