I discovered Birch Book in June 2012. It's a good one. Not widely known. It's the only neofolk band I listen to -- I've tried Iron & Wine, and he's good, but didn't stick with me.

I started listening to Porcupine Tree in September 2013. Funnily enough, it was another recommendation where I bought a specific album, didn't like it, then started listening to other albums, cycled through, and then found the original album to be the best one. That album is In Absentia, although I have a difficult relationship to it after digging through the song meanings.
