There is no way to get rid of the subscribe request.

Maybe it is because I previously had a subscription.

@FeedingTubePaul Did you use the right link? It should be showing it was gifted by a NYT subscriber. I'll mention to tech support folks. I am not tech support.

@nytimes @krebstar @FeedingTubePaul @palafo if you’re on an iPhone, you can select *Show Reader* on the Safari browser. I was able to read it without signing up that way.
