Ultimately the world of the sequels (and to some extent, the original trilogy) feels very small. There's a desert planet, a rainforest planet, and a Scottish highlands planet. And because they're all occupied by (or soon-visited-by) the Empire and its derivatives, all you ever see is the same uniformed enemies.

These movies have no time for anything but action, so it's either chasing, fighting, or planning in a basement. You never get to see the cultures of the planets they're on, or even more than a few buildings in the single town on the whole planet.

@Gargron The movies have been feeling smaller and smaller for my entire life --- ever since they went back to Tattooine for Return of the Jedi, I think.
