@pettter Ha, this made me realize that even this name for a very nice thing is infected with a cars-first ideology.

To be clear I'm not advocating for changing the terminology, it's too catchy and being this sanctimonious isn't practical anyway, just appreciating the irony in that.

Is that really cars first though? it's literaly about the pedestrian parts of roads :)

@deshipu Even with cars you can raise the road, making cars slow down before crossings, as well as make things easier for pedestrians, as @pettter pointed out. And even in an ideal world we would likely want some roads in cities for vehicle access. @sotolf @rysiek

“Universal Design” is, I think, the not-car-related term. Some ideas are good for the whole universe of users, without reference to abilities.
