@healyn I just thought about that. What if we could establish a day (5th of October maybe? Bday of Mastodon) where the mastodonians give a bit of their money to their instance admin? Ensuring financial support of an independent #fediverse. What might be a good hashtag? #idogiveabuckday ?

@healyn Only gunna get worse if the influx continues. The product (not that any fedi product does exceptionally better) doesn't scale particularly well, at least not without a pile of revenue. Even then...
