Gregory's Server@scully@social.chinwag.org I think the former is true, not the latter. Once beta testing is considered complete, it’s likely that TestFlight won’t be required and you’d be able to install it just like any other app.
Likely it goes like this:
Apple approved app -> TestFlight beta testing -> general release on App Store
