How peculiar, it looks like I blocked his entire instance for being a Gab run by a free-speech maximalist already. What a coincidence that I should find myself blocking his "tech demo" as well. I'm sure he is perfectly innocent and hasn't given any thought at all to the nastier uses of his little Pleroma project.

Eugen, as fediverse gets more and more popular, it's only a matter of time before things like this start happening. If something is popular enough and open, people will eventually start abusing it. You can't limit the abuse potential without limiting the openness. I bet first email clients didn't come with spam filters either. We're gonna have to implement spam filtering, too.

It's your decision and it's good enough for us. Surely there must be a much more ideal way of handling it, but for now it's better than leaving that door wide open.
